Scripture: Revelation 3:14–19; Isaiah 55

“The awareness of Christ’s presence awakens us to true experience. We need the clear taste of life that fills us and for which there is no substitute. God asks us to open ourselves to the Spirit, to draw near to the Source, and take hold of this holy, refreshing, living water.” –Ruthie Tippin, Fruit of the Vine

Query: How is God’s holy passion and fresh purpose showing up as a pattern in your life?

I Embrace the World This Morning

I embrace the world this morning,

hold her in my arms a long moment

and decide never to let her go,

never to return to safety,

never to say, “It’s none of my business.”

It is.

Maybe there should be a ritual

when we come of age,

when we’re old enough to respond,

“I do,”

to the most crucial question:

“Do you love this world?”

Perhaps that will be the final question:

“Have you truly, deeply, faithfully

loved this world?”
