This Day: Visit us each day for a contemplative experience – an image, a Scripture reading, a quotation from Fruit of the Vine, a query, and a poem-prayer. On Saturday each week, we will feature an excerpted Quaker testimony. On Sunday each week, we will offer a Scripture reading, historic Quaker quotation, questions for consideration, and a personal essay from the Illuminate lesson for that week.

Scripture: 2 Peter 1:3–12

“In case you, like I, have ever judged yourself for the capacity you were given, ever wondered if you could have more energy or more gifts to offer, let’s remember together to stay plugged in to our Source.” –Bethany Lee, Fruit of the Vine

Query: Do you trust that you have everything you need to serve the purpose for which you were created?

Life breathes,

is ever changing.

When we get stuck

in our prejudices,

we miss truth and beauty.

Best to empty yourself—

seek silence and balance.

Our world serves up

both wonder and danger.

The Spirit-filled one

judges not,

offers love to both

saints and sinners alike.
