I live in the town where I was born and I work as a youth pastor, an itinerant chess coach, and a writer. Because of time management issues and an addiction to books, I have a self-imposed limit of one hour each week at the public library. Back in junior high, I was nicknamed “The Brain.”

My dream is to make a difference as a writer. But I'm finding that the fun part of having a dream is the shape it gives to the working and waiting of everyday life. I believe God has been revealing to me the source of real joy: discovering what I was created to be and being just that—nothing more, nothing less—finding the place where I can just be myself, where I'm finally free to give, to wait, and to dream.
